House Bill 2

Dozens of municipalities, political leaders and musicians have voiced opposition to House Bill 2, which requires people to use public bathrooms that correspond to their birth gender, excludes gay and transgender people from protections against employment and public accommodations discrimination and blocks cities and counties from extending such protections to them.

Some have gone one step further by changing their plans to expand or perform in the Tar Heel State.

Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists
CSTE usually holds its annual convention in the home state of its president, which next year would be North Carolina State Epidemiologist Dr. Megan Davies, but the group said so many of its members wouldn't be able to attend because of bans on non-essential travel to North Carolina enacted by a number of states and cities that it wouldn't be cost-effective to keep its June 2017 convention in Raleigh.
