Curfews

Pender County enacted a curfew effective Sept. 5. The curfew hours are 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. until further notice.

"The curfew is county-wide," said Tom Collins, Pender County Emergency manager. "It is important for our residents to stay off the roads."

Due to high winds and rain from Hurricane Dorian, night time travel can be hazardous due to fallen trees, downed power lines, and debris.

"The only vehicles permitted on the roadways should be Pender EMS & Fire, law enforcement, and utility maintenance," said Alan Cutler, Pender County Sheriff.
